What we do to be sustainable

Our goal is to always use PLA plastics for our 3D printing, unless other materials are strictly necessary. PLA is a bioplastic made from renewable resources like corn starch, unlike petrol-based plastics like ABS. It is also highly versatile, allowing you to smelt it back down and recycle it into new filament. All of our failed prints, waste material and received prints are recycled as much as possible. To make sure that our waste is recyclable we use high-quality PLA from Swedish manufacturer add:north, which recycle PLA to produce their re:add recycle-based filament.

No matter how sustainable our production line is, we are an online service relying on packages being shipped around Europe. Therefore, we have partnered with OneTreePlanted to climate compensate our products through tree planting in Africa. For every order you place, we plant one tree. This both supports the earth through reduced CO2 in the atmosphere, and the local communities, by providing sustainable sources of wood, food and income.

As a society, we are in an ongoing shift from a linear to a circular economy. That is, we are moving from a product having a lifespan and being thrown away, to a product being made, recycled and again made into something new. Moving to 3D printed products is a great way to reduce your waste, since plastics like PLA can be easily recycled and printed into something new. We believe that everyone should be able to make that step, even if they don't have the money, time or effort to buy and use a 3D printer.

We also encourage all our customers to sent back the 3D printed products they no longer use. By sending your product back to us, we can recycle the materials, and you can earn discounts on your next order. Win-win!
